7 winter baby shower ideas you'll love

welcome baby with major style.

Summer baby showers are a breeze: every flower is in bloom, it's warm and most likely sunny, and an outdoor event is usually an option. But babies come all year round, and winter baby showers can be great, too! Use these tips from expert party planners for a cozy get-together that brings out the best of the season. Seri Kertzner, chief party officer of New York's Little Miss Party, and Debi Lilly, chief eventeur of Chicago-based A Perfect Event, share their cute and chic ideas for a cold-weather gathering.

bloom: What's a good winter color palette that doesn't feel summery?
Seri: Gold, hunter green, and white + black. Always. Use these colors together or apart, however you want and you can’t go wrong.

Debi: I like using glass and Lucite accents for the winter. It gives a beautiful icy feel to the room. Could be the chairs, the candle holders--anything to give a little clear shine.

bloom: What about floral arrangements?
Seri: We love pulling the green through the decor with greenery: Eucalyptus is inexpensive and goes along way as a table runner or the tail to a balloon.

Debi: One of the big color trends for 2019 decor is yellow - which is a great neutral baby color palette. You can pop blooms like ruffled yellow parrot tulips into small glass bottles and scatter them down a table for a fast, easy design. Best of all these can double as party favors when guests head home end of party.

bloom: What are some fun seasonal food and drink ideas?
Seri: Hot Cocoa bar! Have shots of Baileys for the moms or friends or family who are not pregnant! They will LOVE it. Set out tons of fun toppings like chocolate shavings, marshmallows, candy, etc.

Debi: We love a chili bar, with big pots of white chili, chicken chili and black bean veggie chili in soup pots on the stove, and dozens of toppings to customize flavors as guests make their mugs. Party tip: mugs are more party friendly than bowls and easier to carry to the table.

Seri: Yes, warm drinks are great. We recently planned a winter shower and set a Hot Apple Cider bar with fresh cinnamon sticks and powder to top your drinks with. That was a hit!

One of the most popular shower gifts? A bouncer. Our iconic Coco Stylewood is chic enough to sit in any room in the house, or our versatile Coco Go offers three modes, a vibration unit, and folds flat for easy travel and storage. If you're looking for a gift or it's not already on your registry, these are a guaranteed hit!
